Habad's Thought

Habad's Thought
From Beginning to End
Dov Schwartz

This book offers an interpretation of the writings of the Habad Admorim as the reflection of a continuous philosophical tradition, characterized by varied shades and developments. As of now, R. Schneur Zalman of Liadi, R. Shalom Dober Schneerson (the middle Admor), R. Menachem Mendel (Tsemah Tseddek), R. Shmuel Schneerson, R. Shalom Dober Schneerson, R. Yosef Yitzhak Schneerson and R. Menachem Mendel Schneerson are presented as the creators of a theoretical kabbalistic tradition. Central issues in philosophy and in Kabbalah are examined in the light of the philosophal tradition of Habad, and the Habad Admorim's contribution to subjects such as faith, creation, redemption and repentance is uncovered. Habad philosophy's affinity to religious Zionism is discussed along with the events following the last rabbi's death.
