Mahbarot Liyehudit is a collection of studies on medieval literature research presented to Professor Judith Dishon in recognition of her many years of work in Bar-Ilan University and elsewhere. Friends, colleagues, and students who cherish her work joined together to create a volume of the fruits of their research that are in the spirit of her teachings. This collection is divided into Studies on Medieval Hebrew Poetry in Spain, Piyyut and Poetics, History, Historiography and Jewish Thought, Judeo-Spanish (Ladino) Studies, and an English section that deals with Hebrew poetry in Spain and its influences. The work of Professor Dishon has earned her a place of honor among scholars of the Middle Ages all over the world. The editors of this volume, one a colleague and friend, the other a disciple, are both in the Department of Literature of the Jewish People at Bar-Ilan University and are honored to present this volume to Judith Dishon.
