This collection is based on lectures given at the conference “The Role of a Religious University”, which was held marking the 50th anniversary of Bar-Ilan University, a foundation which champions the slogan “Torah and Science”.
This study explores how religious identity and academic excellence intersect. The first part includes studies on Bar-Ilan University’s religious paradigm. These studies discuss the historical aspects, educational, legal, and cultural establishment of Bar-Ilan University and its ethos. The second part of the book contains studies on models of religious universities in the world.
