The book deals with a focused but complex question: When is a refusal to sell or rent a residential unit because of cultural identity (religion, race, nationality or ethnicity) legal? When should segregation in housing be classified legally prohibited discrimination? Proper response requires an understanding that this is a question of exploring the root of the relationship between the cultural groups that operate in society, and how we see "ourselves" and "others". Appropriate planning is a basic condition for achieving a minimal social cohesion in a divided society.
