At the center of this collection of articles are two subjects: KKL and its impact on the geographic and cultural / symbolic space of the land of Israel, and the historical geography of the Lower Galilee from the late nineteenth to mid-twentieth century. The articles are based on lectures given at the eighth Conference of the Chair for the Study of the History and Activities of the Jewish National Fund (KKL) at Bar-Ilan University, which marked 110 years since the establishment of the JNF. The book is the result of a research effort of both senior researchers and researchers early in their careers.
