Invitation to Special Evening (Zoom)
The story of women's place in the Zionist right-wing parties and organizations remains on the margins of social-historical research. This book fills this space, and tells the story of the activities of women in the right-wing parties during the mandate period and in the first years of the state's existence, while examining their identity, their gender awareness and the main dilemmas they faced. The book traces the political activities in the party establishments during a tumultuous period in the history of the settlement and the Jewish people, against the background of the private and organizational significance of being a politically active woman within right-wing opposition organizations and parties.
Dr. Ofira Gruweis-Kovalsky, a senior lecturer at Safed Academic College and a research fellow at the Herzl Institute for Zionist Studies at the University of Haifa, studies the political history of the State of Israel and specializes in the history of the Zionist right.
